Sophia Brown is an advisor at NSI and a program officer for the Nuclear Threat Initiative’s (NTI) Nuclear Materials Security Program. She supports nuclear energy-related activities as well as NTI’s role in the International Partnership for Nuclear Disarmament Verification.

Brown was previously the project lead for the Nuclear Technology Team at CRDF Global, where she implemented a diverse portfolio of international capacity-building projects focused on nuclear energy and security in coordination with the Department of State. She also served as a research assistant at the National Security Archive, conducting literature reviews on proliferation threats and documenting historic US policy decisions. 

Brown is passionate about education, volunteering her time to tutor individuals preparing for the GED or navigating the college application process. She holds a BA in International Relations with a minor in Economics from Tulane University.
